So I've setup the CNAME when I enter the domain url it redirects to the correct app page but all it says is that it is coming soon. So I tried reloading the application page but it just gives me the error that the CNAME isn't setup even though I've already had the page redirect correctly.

The CNAME error does not prevent the web app from reloading. It's just telling you that the CNAME for your web app isn't pointed at the web app. Do you just need to wait for propagation?
The tool the DNS help page provided says that it propagated already but maybe it is something more on my end. I'm just at a bit of a loss at the moment.
What are the domains that you're trying to set CNAMEs for?

You do not have a web app for either of the CNAMEs that you set up (www and api). You need a web app on the domain for it to respond on that domain.
