How do I download files using code?

I have a python script that takes a youtube url and downloads it, but I can't get it onto my system. I also want it to work with any OS.

If you have successfully downloaded the file to PythonAnywhere then you could download the file to your machine using our api https://help.pythonanywhere.com/pages/API/
