CNAME GoDaddy not work

DELETED

hi there, we recommend configuring your domain as "www.simplestats.me" (use the little pencil icon to change it). More info here: https://help.pythonanywhere.com/pages/NakedDomains

yes, you need to do it the other way around -- CNAME for www.simplestats.me, and forward simplestats.me to www.

I'm afraid I don't understand the question?

You can set the CNAME record for the www.yourdomain.com to the pythonanywhere name we give you when you setup your webapp. That works without a redirect. For the naked domain yourdomain.com, we suggest doing a redirect, but you can also try to set the A records. See the above links for how to do this.

Ah, that is because to us, simplestats.me and www.simplestats.me is two different websites.

You will have to setup two different webapps (with the same wsgi.py content and pointing to the same code etc) if you don't want to do the redirect.

Is there any reason why you don't want to do the redirect? If your domain provider can't do it, you could say use cloudflare to manage your dns for free and get them to do the redirect for you.

Is there any reason why you don't want to do the redirect? It's a much better solution from an SEO perspective, so that's the "correct"/recommended way. Also even if your domain provider can't do it, you could say use cloudflare to manage your dns for free and get them to do the redirect for you.

Because Google penalises duplicate content. If you have a redirect, they treat the 2 urls as the same site, so you don't get penalised for duplicating content.
