How do I type '@' in the bash console

Hello,

I need to type '@' in the bash console but failing. The prompt turns into '(arg: 2)' which I don't understand.

Thanks for your help!

That's strange. Are you using a non-English keyboard or a keyboard that is not standard in some other way?

I'm using a standard Swedish keyboard. I can type the '@' in a browser or a text document as usual, but in the bash console something else happens. I tried copying in the symbol and the whole word but doesn't seem to work. I'll keep trying though. Thanks.

It may be that the JavaScript console we use doesn't handle Swedish keyboards well. We do have an experimental alternative keyboard we could try switching you over to -- it has sometimes been better in situations like this in the past. Just let us know if you'd like to give it a try.

Same happens to me with mac spanish keyboard, in all languages i have tried. This only happens in pythonanywhere.

We could -- as an experiment -- switch you over to a different type of console, as Giles suggested above, let us know if you want to try that.
