Hi Guys,

I have a domain at dreamhost and have a web app at username.pythonanywhere.com. And I want to direct the dreamhost domain to my pythonanywhere application.

At dreamhost I did a CNAME custom record (unhosted domain):

name: www.domain.com type: CNAME value: username.pythonanywhere.com

It started to direct to pythonanywhere, but in your site it said "unconfigured domain...".

Do I need to do something else on Pythonanywhere side, or am I missing something?

Sounds like you need to create a web app for www.domain.com

I got it sorted by deleting my web app and creating it with custom domain (the one I redirected it). However I still dont understand how to do this manually e.g. If I change the domain to something else.

Having same problems with Dreamhost.

Hi there -- I think you may be having a different problem -- it looks like you have a web app created for your custom domain already. What's the specific problem you're seeing? I see that you don't have a CNAME set up for the web site yet...

I've added a CNAME on dreamhost and also tried redirecting. The redirecting takes me to pythonanywhere, but I'd prefer to not redirect and only serve from pythonanywhere.com.
