BoardGameGeek API with free PythonAnywhere account

I'm trying to write an app that access the free API from boardgamegeek.com but I get an internal server error. Is it possible to allow access to this API?

we limit external internet access for free accounts.

if you show us documentation for their public api, we can add it to our whitelist.
