How to start over - trying to deploy a new project

Hi, I am learning django and I want to deploy a new project and backup or delete the current one. How do I do that? Thanks.

If you want to start again completely from fresh, the easiest thing would be to delete your existing account, and then you could create a new one. Just drop us a line at support@pythonanywhere.com to do that. You would have to make sure that you had downloaded any important information from the account first, though.

Thanks. I want to retain sambar.pythonanywhere.com but want that to be a clean slate. I deployed a blog app. Now I'm learning from another source and want to deploy a portfolio app. How can I do this? Thanks again for the responses.

For now I deleted the app on my capsicum account and added a new project (since the original project directories are still around). I wonder what issues this might create though - for this new project will I be able to create its own virtual environment?

It's still safe to follow the route where we delete the account if you want a clean slate; when an account is deleted, the username becomes available for registration, so you can sign up again using it. (Unless you're really unlucky and someone manages to get the username in between when the old account is deleted and the new one created.)

However, if you don't want to risk that, then you can clear things down by deleting the web app on the "Web" page inside PythonAnywhere, then using the "Files" page to delete the files. You can also delete any virtualenv using thermvirtualenv Bash command.

Got it. Thanks Giles.

How to reinitialize my account ? i deleted main file i guess so everything messed up. Could you please reinitialize my account ? ( it's urgent )

no need solution i fixed

All right -- if you'd happen to experience any undesired bahavior, let us know; we may reset a paid account on a user request.
