How to Upgrade Postgres version

Is there a way to get a newer version of Postgres for my application? I am still on version 9 and I am getting an error that suggests that I need a more recent version to work with the version of Django I am using.

I need to update the version of my Postgres. I couldn't use it with Django properly. Could you please help?
