US POSTGRES CORTE

Hello PythonAnywhere Team and Community,

I hope everyone is doing well. I am reaching out for some guidance regarding a connection issue I am facing with my PostgreSQL database from my Django application running in a virtual environment on PythonAnywhere. Whenever I attempt to connect to the database, I receive a psycopg2.OperationalError indicating a timeout error. The exact error message reads:

psycopg2.OperationalError: could not connect to server: Connection timed out Is the server running on host "carlossantoyo-2681.postgres.pythonanywhere-services.com" (10.0.0.35) and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?

Same with us:

Connection timed out Is the server running on host "smartfinder-2289.postgres.pythonanywhere-services.com" (10.0.0.35) and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 12289

How long have you had this problem? We have been trying to contact support for about 2 hours but they don't respond.

Since about 3:15pm US Pacific time. Please comment on the all-caps "US POSTGRES OUTAGE" thread so we keep that one at the top of the list to improve the chances someone at PA notices.

I hope they give us a quick solution, and I tried to communicate by all means, which are not many, and I can't get a response.

Website was doing fine until yesterday

Sorry about that! There was a hardware issue on one of our postgres servers. We're improving our alerting system so this doesn't go unnoticed next time.
