Text editors run from console do not detect console size.

Hi,

My console resizes with my browser window ok (Chrome 39 - sorry, IT have messed up auto update) but if I use a text editor - e.g. vi, nano or joe then they all stay fixed size. Looks like 80-100 cols x 43 lines max.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

David.

hm, it works ok for us, we do a fair bit of in-console vi here... It could be to do with the chrome version, so it may be worth testing on a newer version when you get home?

I wonder if there could be some sort of weird bash / terminal config messing with things too... Have you got anything custom in your .bashrc?

I think your right. On my Chromebook it seems fine, console says 148x31 and the editor fills the screen. .bashrc looks standard, nothing in there that I can see relates to console.

Have raised (another) ticket with IT.

Cheers.
