New CNAMEs for web apps

When my web app www.happyknowledge.com started showing a DNS Setup error I checked my CNAME settings on cloudflare.

CNAME name was set to www with a value of <my-user-name>.pythonanywhere.com

I changed the value to webapp-xxxxx.pythonanywhere.com found on the web tab.

But the DNS Setup error has not been resolved and the whatsmydns tool confirms that the CNAME has not propagated.

These changes were made 12 to 16 hours ago.

First question. What I am I doing wrong ?

Second question. Despite the error, accessing www.happyknowledge.com still works. Why ?

Hi there, it looks like it has propagated now. In any case, both ways will keep working for a while, it's just that we want to gradually switch people across to the new way...

This is weird.

I'm still getting this error on PAW: "You do not have a CNAME set up for your domain. Check this help page for more information about how to set it up correctly."

and

whatsmydnstool is still saying that I don't have a valid CNAME.

Anyhow, my app is accessible so I'm not worried.

I'm definitely not seeing that error on your page, at least not for the happyknowledge.com page. Have you hit "refresh" recently? Can you send me a screenshot?

It looks good now.

great!
