Webapp restarting due to wsgi.py being touched

Are there ongoing, repeated storage issues your team is experiencing?

Over the past few months (30 times since August) my webapp will go down randomly for about ~30m (but sometimes as long as a few hours). When I go to diagnose the problem, often I can't access the Files/Console/Etc section of pythonanywhere. Once I am able to get access again, when I review server logs I always see the "xxx_wsgi.py has been touched... grace them all !!! *** log before the webapp goes down.

In the past, this type of behavior aligned with cases where you had reported storage-based downtime on twitter. Can you communicate with your users about what the plan is? There is no reliable way to determine pythonanywhere status (as very few of these incidents were reported on twitter).

We have had a recurring issue with our file servers that we are working hard to diagnose. These are not planned outages, so we can't announce them in advance. Most of the time, we can resolve the outage in a lot less than 30 minutes, but there have been some cases where it took longer. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

I understand that they are unplanned, but a status page would still be helpful. If something happens I'm left wondering if it's on my app side or on the pythonanywhere side. I could save time diagnosing if there was a page I could check that said 'yes, pythonanywhere is having an issue right now'.

Ok. Thanks for the suggestion.
