Bash not in sync with folders

Hi, a while back (way back) I used this site to host my website. I admit, its been a while since i actually went back-end (sql etc) since everything I did was through the django admin page. Now since a while back my site has had an exception, although I have to admit, it did so without me noticing.

Now my question, why are the bash-console and web folders not in sync? Are they even supposed to be? I cant replace folders and files with the ones i find in the bash console since I cant find the web-app folder in the bash console.

Help me plz

Hi Shirutech,

If it is any consolation I think the issue may not be unique to you.

I am trying to tell if your problem is related to what I am seeing too. Presently, I can see my 'scripts' and other folders via Bash console but they appear missing via the python anywhere.com web interface when I login. Is that similar to your issue?

My web app was working yesterday but now it isn't. I am seeing 'Unhandled Exception' when I try to go to my app. Tonight my WSGI file comes up as gone, like my scripts and other folders.

I think something got hooked up wrong or not hooked up?

Hi there -- apologies for the confusion, that looks like it was a knock-on effect from an earlier issue with one of our file servers. Some user sandboxes weren't reassembled properly after the system came back.

We've patched up all of the web servers, and we think that all console servers are back in sync. But if you are seeing any problems with any consoles (the symptoms are likely to be that you won't see you files in your home dir, just a default README and an empty Dropbox folder) then we'd be really grateful if you'd let us know which server -- just hit refresh and look at the bottom left of the screen, where while the console is connecting you should see a message giving the number of the console server.

@shirutech -- I've just checked all of our web and console servers and everything should be OK for you now.

@wayne461 -- you're all good on the web servers, but some console servers don't have your home directory. I'm looking into that now.

Right, that should be fixed now. All directories should be in sync for both of you.

Apologies once again for the confusion. This was the first time we've had this kind of issue on the system, so our recovery procedures were a bit ad-hoc. As well as working to fix the underlying cause, we'll document what went wrong so that if the same thing happens again we can recover better and more consistently.

Thanks, Giles. Much appreciated.

No problem!

Thank you guys! Much appreciated!

@wayne461, that is exactly what happened to me. I even took down my webapp and created a new one because of it.
