[admin update 2013-10-28: see the wiki section on email/smtp]

Hello,

When trying to use my GoDaddy SMTP account, I get a connection refused, while testing from local computer works fine.

Used settings:

EMAIL_HOST = 'smtpout.secureserver.net' EMAIL_HOST_PASSWORD = '*' EMAIL_HOST_USER = '*' EMAIL_PORT = 80 EMAIL_USE_TLS = False

Thanks in advance for any insight.

You need at least an Hacker account (5 USD per month) to access external sites that aren't in the whitelist and it looks like that host isn't.

Also, Free accounts only have HTTP access to the internet, so SMTP won't work even if the site is in the whitelist.
