Is there a way to serve up notebook kernels using IPython 5.X or newer? current version when I start up a 3.4 or 3.5 notebook is '4.1.2' and appears to be incompatible with some vega-based visualization packages (ex. altair).

Unfortunately, javascript widgets will not work at all on PythonAnywhere. It is a limitation of the software that we use to manage the notebooks and we are looking for a solution.
